ASSA ABLOY Door Group Achieves FORS Bronze Accreditation

ASSA ABLOY Door Group Accreditation certificate Door Group, a unit of ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions UK & Ireland, is pleased to announce they have successfully achieved a Bronze accreditation from the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS).

FORS is a voluntary accreditation scheme for fleet operators which aims to raise the level of quality within fleet operations, and to demonstrate which operators are achieving exemplary levels of best practice in safety, efficiency, and environmental protection.

Bronze is the initial accreditation of three (Bronze, Silver and Gold) that confirms a company employs good practices and complies with the requirements laid out by the FORS Standard.

This includes demonstrating dedication to driver and vehicle safety, combined with improving operating practices through effective monitoring of fuel and tyre usage.

FORS is built around continuous improvement, where members strive for even higher operational standards as they progress through the levels of the scheme, and goes beyond basic legal compliance, with members able to tangibly evidence how they far exceed the legal basics.

FORS accredited operators comply with both CLOCS (Construction Logistics and Community Safety) and Transport for London’s WRRR (Work related road risks) requirements. Four areas are included in the FORS accreditation, including Management, Vehicles, Drivers and Operations.

Colin Donnelly, Health, Safety and Environment Manager at Door Group, explains: “FORS accreditation is another step in the right direction for ASSA ABLOY. Alongside operational safety within our factory and construction activities, FORS allows us to raise awareness within our fleet operations and demonstrates our commitment to a more safe and sustainable future.

“The team did a great job achieving FORS Bronze status and I’ve no doubt that with continued effort that we can progress to Silver and Gold status in the coming years.”
