IWFM Impact Awards: David Sharp To Lead Strategic Review As Mark Griffiths Takes Over As Chair Of Judges

iwfm impact awards 2021 logo IWFM has announced a strategic review of its Impact Awards that will be led by former lead judge David Sharp.

Sharp, who became Chair of Judges for the 2022 season, has decided to step aside from that role and will instead lead a wide-ranging review of the sector’s flagship event with recommendations to take effect from 2023 onwards. Mark Griffiths, a longstanding lead judge, will succeed him as Chair of Judges with immediate effect and will also support the Sharp Review.

David Sharp said: “I want the IWFM Impact Awards to remain a benchmark that people, teams and organisations throughout this sector can continue to aspire to and see themselves as capable of winning.

“Having begun to engage with a wide range of stakeholders in workplace and facilities management this autumn, I have concluded that I can best contribute by focusing my effort into a broader review, free from the timetable of the 2022 Awards, beginning with an evaluation of the feedback from the recent consultation exercise.”

Linda Hausmanis, CEO of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) CEO Linda Hausmanis said: “Volunteering requires intensive commitment and I am grateful to David for the excellent support he has given to our Awards for many years, both as a judge and most recently as Chair of Judges.

“We need to focus on the future of our Awards to ensure its continued evolution, relevance and longevity in line with our profession’s advancement. I am delighted that David will continue to support the initiative at large by diverting his considerable energy into a strategic review that will conclude in time for the 2023 Awards.

“Meanwhile, plans for the 2022 Impact Awards continue apace and I welcome Mark Griffiths wholeheartedly as the new Chair of Judges. I know he will do a sterling job.”

The Review’s Terms of Reference are currently being drafted between IWFM Chair Mark Whittaker, Linda Hausmanis and David Sharp, ahead of it beginning before the year end. The 2022 Awards will be launched in January.
