Mace To Be Net Zero Carbon In 2020
Mace will reduce carbon emissions across their own development and operations as far as possible and offset all outstanding emissions to Gold Standard.
The Gold Standard Foundation is a WWF organisation that was set up in 2003 to ensure projects designed to reduce carbon emissions feature the highest levels of environmental integrity and also contribute to sustainable development.
Mace's net zero carbon objective builds on the company signing up to the RE100 commitment in 2017 – a global initiative to encourage organisations to use 100% renewable energy.

Mace will also be seeking opportunities to accelerate the adoption of solutions to reduce carbon emissions. Alongside this, Mace will be supporting clients, partners and supply chain companies to embrace and implement low carbon solutions associated with construction and infrastructure projects.

Steps Without Footprints
Mace's strategy is called ‘Steps without footprints’. It will see the firm work to ‘Reduce, Transform, Investigate and Influence’ to achieve net zero carbon emissions in construction and the built environment.
The strategy explores different approaches to tackle the challenges of energy use, embodied carbon, including the decarbonisation of heating and cooling systems, business travel and water and waste.
