ABM Bolsters Its Technical Portfolio With Two UK Shopping Centres

The Trafford Centre ABM, a leading provider of facility and technical services and infrastructure solutions, has been awarded two retail contracts with The Trafford Centre and Derbion.

The latest contract wins for ABM will see the team manage technical services for The Trafford Centre in Manchester, the third largest shopping centre in the UK, along with Derbion, the largest shopping centre in the East Midlands. The latest retail briefs complement ABM’s recently awarded contract for Victoria Shopping Centre in Nottingham.

The technical contracts boost ABM’s retail credentials, taking its portfolio to 24 UK retail shopping centres, which includes sites at St James Quarter in Edinburgh and Telford Shopping Centre.

The three-year contracts cover statutory and non-statutory compliance service which will include, but not be limited to, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), energy solutions, mechanical and electrical services, buildings and fabric maintenance and management system upkeep.

ABM will have a number of engineers based full-time on site, across both centres, to provide delivery of its world class technical services seven days a week. With over 10,000 engineers across the UK and the US, ABM is home to one of the largest facility engineering teams in the world.

Kim Harris, Operations Director at ABM comments: “These two new wins are exciting additions to our retail portfolio. Working collaboratively with the teams on site, we have embedded our teams and ensured a smooth handover of responsibilities and mobilisation to ensure there is no disruption to customers and their shopping experience.”
