PTSG’s Paul Teasdale Named Yorkshire’s CEO Of The Year

Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) is celebrating after winning the top award at this year’s Yorkshire Business of the Year Awards.

Paul Teasdale, now Executive Chairman, was voted Yorkshire’s CEO of the Year following 15 years of incredibly successful trading and successive growth at PTSG – which now employs around 3,000 people in the UK and across Europe. Paul, who co‑founded the business, led on three major initiatives which saw PTSG listed on the London Stock Exchange before driving two private equity deals valued at more the £1bn.

Part of the Business Masters series, the awards ceremony took place on the evening of 29th February at the Queen’s Hotel in Leeds. In a showcase of business excellence from across the region, a select few companies were awarded for innovating, disrupting and thriving.

Paul, who was CEO of PTSG from its founding year of 2007 up to April 2023, is proud to be recognised by the judging panel of TheBusinessDesk.com for his achievements. He said: “I am deeply honoured and humbled to receive this prestigious award. It is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our entire team here at PTSG. I firmly believe that success is a collective effort, and I am grateful to have such a talented and committed group of individuals alongside me on our journey. Paul and PTSG have a strong track record of being nominated for business and industry awards, having won a number of national and international accolades. In the last few years, Paul has been named Yorkshire’s Transformational Leader award and the Yorkshire Post CEO of the Year where judges described him as: ”an outstanding individual who is driven and ambitious with great people around him.” They went on to say that PTSG has a “compelling proposition.” Paul was also named International Customer Service Business Leader of the Year in 2015 for his dedication to creating a customer focused business environment.

In April last year, Paul became the Executive Chairman of PTSG and Nikhil Varty was appointed to replace him as CEO. He is an experienced CEO spanning manufacturing and services, listed companies and private equity firms, who has built a highly successful career in international business with more than 35 years leading organisations including: Honeywell International, WABCO, ServiceMaster Global and Coopers & Lybrand – with four years heading private equity firms, Nowus Capital and advising TPG Capital, supporting clients with large‑scale investments. At ServiceMaster, a $2billion home and commercial services company in the pest control, restoration and cleaning markets, he outperformed all expectations across the group of companies, delivering a service focused completely on people, achieving record profitability and creating an industry‑leading safety culture. Nikhil has held several similar business leadership roles across North America, Europe and Southeast Asia. He is ideally placed to take PTSG forward on the next leg of its incredible journey.

It was announced on Friday 1st March that PTSG has acquired a Netherlands‑based fire solutions company called Flame Control as the business expands its presence in Europe. PTSG works on buildings in all industry sectors nationwide and overseas to keep them fully operational, accessible, safe and compliant. The company’s specialist services solutions include (but are not limited to) façade access and fall arrest equipment, lightning protection testing and electrical compliance, building access cleaning and maintenance, fire and security solutions and water hygiene and treatment.
