DHF Achieves Cyber Essentials Plus Certification

Cyber Essentials Plus logo Tamworth‑based trade association, the Door & Hardware Federation (DHF), has proudly announced its achievement of Cyber Essentials Plus certification. This comes after the organisation had previously attained the Cyber Essentials certification in January, marking a significant step forward in its cybersecurity efforts.

Cyber Essentials Plus stands as the highest level of certification offered within the Cyber Essentials scheme which is supported by the UK government and NCSC (National Cyber Security Centre) and administered by IASME Consortium, which licences bodies to conduct assessments and provided certification.

Whilst Cyber Essentials provides a foundational level of security controls, Cyber Essentials Plus adds an extra layer of assurance through a hands ‑on technical audit conducted by experienced cybersecurity assessors. The audit rigorously tests the implementation of the five basic security controls outlined in Cyber Essentials.

By successfully completing Cyber Essentials Plus, DHF can publicly declare its adherence to the security standards defined by Cyber Essentials, further solidifying its commitment to safeguarding sensitive data against common cyber threats.

Once again, DHF opted to collaborate with DHF member benefit Citation an IASME certification body, to achieve Cyber Essentials Plus. The professional and valuable insights provided by Citation were instrumental in DHF’s successful certification process.

Patricia Sowsbery‑Stevens, DHF’s Commercial Director, emphasised the significance of Cyber Essentials Plus certification stating, “Becoming Cyber Essentials Plus certified confirms that DHF has been independently audited and has addressed its cybersecurity effectively, reducing the risk posed by internet‑based threats, including phishing and ransomware”. She continued, “This achievement underscores DHF’s ongoing dedication to maintaining the security of sensitive information and reflects its proactive approach to cybersecurity and its commitment to ensuring the integrity of its data systems.”
