phs Teacrate has appointed a new Sales Director as the business continues to expand across the UK.

Becky Brown joins the team at the UK’s leading crate services provider with over 20 years’ experience in packaging sales. She has spent the last seven years as UK Convenience Sales Director for a US listed global business specialising in printed cartons for some of the world’s biggest international brands.

At phs Teacrate, Becky will manage an external sales team of six people based across the UK working with a variety of businesses, including the food industry, to meet their product moving and storage needs.

phs Teacrate is the market leader in crate rental services with sites across the UK, including Manchester, Edmonton, Durham, Livingston in Scotland and Curdworth in Birmingham. It provides crate rental and washing services, as well as packaging, to a wide range of sectors, including removals and storage, food processing and distribution and retail. It moves over nine million crates a year and has capacity to wash over 600,000 crates per week nationally.

Speaking about her appointment, Becky said: “There are so many growth opportunities for phs Teacrate so this is an exciting opportunity for me to help expand the business and open up new sectors. It’s a very well-respected company in the crate services industry, known for its fast turnaround times and great customer service, so I’m looking forward to being part of the team.”

Derek Brown, Managing Director at phs Teacrate, said: “Becky knows the packaging industry like the back of her hand and her knowledge and experience will be invaluable to the team. She’s spent two decades working in the food sector which is a particular focus for our business.

“There are more than 200 diseases that can be spread through food, including produce like vegetables as well as meats and, as such, there are strict hygiene requirements for the industry. Crates must be washed thoroughly and hygienically before reuse. Effective washing facilities involve a substantial investment, which is why we offer a high quality wash service for crates, as well as a rental service. We are keen to expand even further into this sector, as well as many others, with Becky heading up our sales team.”

phs Teacrate opened a dedicated food crate wash site in Edmonton earlier this year, which increased its food crate washing service capacity across the UK by nearly 30%.

phs Teacrate is part of the phs Group, the leading hygiene services provider in the UK, Ireland and Spain, with over 3,000 expert personnel providing washroom, floorcare, healthcare and a range of specialist services to over 120,000 customers.
