Opening The Door To A Stronger Future

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems and Nassau Industrial Doors, Managing Director John Burton

Four months on from the merger of ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems and Nassau Industrial Doors, Managing Director John Burton tells us how the business is better prepared to meet the industry’s everchanging needs.

It has always been ASSA ABLOY’s belief that the door is just the beginning of a company’s journey towards a safer, more efficient, and more productive future. This is what has driven us to create the UK’s broadest range of industrial door and docking solutions in addition to a new dedicated UK spare parts centre and build the UK’s largest community of qualified service engineers, offering 24/7 national coverage dedicated to providing quality entrance systems alongside uncompromising service and maintenance.

Our merger with Nassau earlier this year has further bolstered this commitment, enabling us to strengthen our combined offering and better serve customers across every sector, including distribution and logistics – and it’s a hugely important time as businesses tackle the challenges of an ever-changing landscape.

Every major industry has undergone enormous change in recent years, driven by everything from advances in technology through to changes in consumer preferences. This has seen organisations trying to adapt, not just to service the changes they’re seeing right now, but to put themselves in the strongest position to tackle those anticipated in the future.

The distribution and logistics sector is perhaps the best example of this response to change. In recent years, surges in demand have driven enormous growth, seeing millions of parcels processed and delivered nationwide every day. For many, if not all, of the UK’s largest distribution companies who we’ve proudly worked with for several years, this rising demand has triggered forward-thinking investments in their UK infrastructure – and entrance systems have been a key component in this.

One of the main drivers behind this investment is productivity and performance. With greater demand comes the need to handle greater volumes, while maximising accuracy and consistency – and entrance systems provide the starting point on this journey. While this is true of distribution specialists, the same can be said across multiple sectors, from manufacturing through to emergency services. All need to prioritise performance and responsiveness while maximising the safety and wellbeing of employees.

In all these areas, well designed entrance systems come into their own. To make this possible, we work closely with our customers – together with the architects and contractors who bring every project to life. We then combine individual requirements with our decades of experience to advise on the best approach and create systems which will tick every box.

Safety is a key consideration, especially in fast-paced and round-the-clock environments which are commonplace in almost every sector. By building safety into these systems from the outset, we can help businesses to create environments which aren’t just more productive, but ones which answer the needs of the modern workforce.

Committed To Excellence

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems

Much like the organisations we work with today, our position as a trusted partner to global organisations isn’t one we’ve achieved overnight.

As a business, we have been consistently building our expertise and capabilities over several decades. Bringing the Nassau team and product portfolio into our family is just one example of this, strengthening our ability to service customers nationwide at a time when they require expertise and the ability to act quickly.

Elsewhere, we have expanded our range of solutions to create the widest portfolio of industrial doors, docking systems and roller shutters on the market, and we have committed ourselves to the development of our team through dedicated training and the establishment of our Centre of Excellence. All of this puts us in primary position when it comes to delivering for our customers – no matter the scale of their project.

But we’re not stopping there. As we see it, creating and installing high-quality entrance systems is only the start of the journey. In the face of unprecedented demand, businesses need to be sure that they can rely on their systems, hour after hour and day after day.

To this end, our service and maintenance programmes are designed to keep operations running smoothly. At their heart is our team of engineers – the largest in the UK – who carry out regular maintenance, not just of ASSA ABLOY systems but of every system installed at a facility. This gives businesses the confidence that their operations can run seamlessly and, in the event a fault does occur, or an ageing system needs to be upgraded, our dedicated engineering team is on-hand round the clock to facilitate works with minimal disruption.

By providing an end-to-end service – from consultancy and design through to installation and maintenance – we are helping some of the largest organisations in the UK to keep business moving. And the door is just the beginning, with entrance systems designed with future demands in mind.
